Club Avolta & Aeroplan General Terms & Conditions
- Overview:
Dufry International AG (“Dufry”) is the owner and operator of ClubAvolta loyalty program (“ClubAvolta”) and Aeroplan Inc. is the owner and operator of Aeroplan® loyalty program (“Aeroplan”).
Under this program, eligible customers may earn Aeroplan points on qualifying purchases made at Participating Avolta NA Outlets (as defined below), subject to these terms and conditions (the “Terms”).
Participation requires either:
(a) linking a ClubAvolta account with an Aeroplan account; or
(b) in limited cases in Canada, scanning a valid Aeroplan membership card at checkout (as further described below).
Additional terms, limitations, and exclusions apply. - Definitions:
"Eligible Customer” means an individual who:
(a) is at least 18 years old;
(b) is a member of the Aeroplan program with an account in good standing, all in accordance with the Aeroplan program General Terms and Conditions (“Aeroplan Member”). If you are not an Aeroplan Member, you can enrol today; and
(c) is a member of ClubAvolta with an account in good standing.
Dufry and Aeroplan may require proof of age and identity to verify eligibility.
“Participating Avolta NA Outlets” means retail locations operated by Dufry’s Canada and United States of America affiliates that participate in this program, as listed in the ClubAvolta app, as updated from time to time. Not all locations may participate.
“Eligible Goods” means all goods sold at Participating Avolta NA Outlets, except:
(a) goods identified as excluded in-store;
(b) goods designated by Dufry or its affiliates as ineligible; and
(c) any categories listed as non-eligible goods below.
“Non-Eligible Goods” include, without limitation: tobacco products, lottery tickets, gift cards, phone cards, pre-loved goods, and watches (including Bob’s Watches), and any other items excluded from time to time.
“Qualifying Spend” means the final purchase price paid by an Eligible Customer for Eligible Goods at a Participating Avolta NA Outlet, excluding applicable taxes and after any discounts, promotions, or returns.
“Reserve & Collect” means Dufry’s online duty-free shopping and collection service available through the ClubAvolta platform. - Account Linking:
To earn Aeroplan points through ClubAvolta:
• An Eligible Customer must go to their ClubAvolta app and link their Aeroplan account to their ClubAvolta account, and then select Aeroplan as their preferred partner.
• Each Aeroplan account may only be linked to one ClubAvolta account, and both accounts must belong to the same individual.
Customers may unlink their accounts at any time; however:
• once unlinked, customers will no longer be eligible to earn Aeroplan points under this program; and
• a waiting period (currently 30 days) may apply before accounts can be re-linked.
By linking accounts, customers acknowledge and consent to the sharing of certain personal data between Dufry and Aeroplan for the purposes of administering this program. - How to Earn Aeroplan Points:
Where accounts are linked, Eligible Customers may earn Aeroplan points by:
• presenting their ClubAvolta QR code (via the ClubAvolta app) at checkout at a staffed point of sale at Participating Avolta NA Outlets;
• scanning their ClubAvolta QR code at a self-checkout kiosk (where available) at Participating Avolta NA Outlets; or
• logging into their ClubAvolta account with the Aeroplan account linked when making purchases via Reserve & Collect (Dufry’s online duty free service).
Canada-Only Alternative:
• In duty free Participating Avolta NA Outlets in Canada only, Aeroplan Members may earn Aeroplan points by scanning their Aeroplan membership card at a staffed checkout, without linking accounts.
General:
Aeroplan points will only be awarded if the applicable membership identifier (ClubAvolta QR code or Aeroplan membership card, as applicable) is presented at the time of purchase. Retrospective claims are not permitted. - Earn Rate and Limits:
• Eligible Customers will earn 1 Aeroplan point for every CAD $2 of Qualifying Spend.
• Points are calculated on whole dollars only and rounded down to the nearest CAD $2 increment.
• A maximum of 10,000 Aeroplan points per transaction may be earned.
• A maximum of five (5) eligible transactions per day and thirty (30) per month may qualify.
If a purchase is refunded or cancelled, any associated Aeroplan points will be reversed. - Participating Avolta NA Outlets:
Not all ClubAvolta locations participate in this program, and availability may vary by region, store format, or product category. - Exclusions:
In addition to Non-Eligible Goods:
• certain products may be excluded from earning Aeroplan points if indicated in-store or by staff; and
• additional exclusions may apply at any time and may vary by location. - Awarding of Points:
Aeroplan points are typically awarded within 72 hours of a Qualifying Spend but may take up to 30 days. - General Conditions:
• Retrospective claims are not permitted.
• Dufry and Aeroplan reserve the right to amend, suspend, or terminate this program at any time without prior notice or any liability.
• Dufry and Aeroplan may cancel or adjust points or terminate participation if they reasonably determine that a customer has breached these Terms or engaged in fraudulent, unauthorized, or unlawful activity.
• Decisions of Dufry and Aeroplan regarding all aspects of this program shall be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into with Eligible Customers in respect thereof. - Liability:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dufry and Aeroplan (and their respective affiliates, agents, and subcontractors) will not be liable for any loss, damage, personal injury, or death arising from or in connection with this program or participation in it. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory legal rights that cannot be excluded. - Governing Law:
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. The courts of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by applicable law. All legal recourse against Dufry and Aeroplan is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. - These Terms are subject to:

Data sharing practices
When you link your Aeroplan and Club Avolta accounts, Aeroplan Inc. (""Aeroplan"") and Dufry International AG, operator of Club Avolta (“Dufry”) will each share personal data about you with one another. This helps Aeroplan and Dufry better understand your preferences so we can each send you more personalized offers to earn and redeem Aeroplan points. The shared data will be protected, used, and disclosed in accordance with the Aeroplan Privacy Policy and the Club Avolta Privacy Policy. The sharing of personal data will continue as long as your accounts are linked.
If you delink your accounts, the sharing of your data detailed below between Aeroplan and Dufry will stop. In addition, Aeroplan will delete the data it received about you from Dufry (listed below) and Dufry will delete the data it received about you from Aeroplan (listed below), unless continued retention is permitted or required by law.
- In addition to the personal information that Aeroplan may share with Dufry pursuant to the Aeroplan Privacy Policy, by proceeding and linking your accounts, you agree that Aeroplan will share with
Dufry : - General Aeroplan point accumulation activity, such as:
o your points balance;
o the frequency and recency of your accumulation activity;
o the categories of partners you earn points with; and
o your accumulation activity in each partner category. - General Aeroplan point redemption activity, such as:
o the frequency and recency of your redemption activity; and
o the activities you complete or channels through which you redeem your points. - General Air Canada travel activity, for example:
o whether you are a Leisure or Business Traveller;
o your approximate number of flights during a certain period; and
o your preferred destination (e.g. United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific, etc.). - If you have an Aeroplan co-brand credit card:
o Avolta’s share of your credit card spend (if applicable) in retail, convenience and food and beverage; and
o Overall credit card spend habits in relevant categories, i.e. premium retail, retail, convenience.
If you link your accounts, Dufry will share with Aeroplan:
- General Club Avolta membership information, such as:
o your tenure in the Club Avolta program;
o your membership tier (Silver, Gold, Platinum); - General purchase activity across ‑ locations operated by Dufry and its affiliates, such as:
o your number of purchases in a certain period of time;
o categories of purchases (e.g., duty‑free retail, food & beverage, travel convenience);
o the value of your transaction;
o the date and time you make transactions;
o geographic location/store of purchases across Dufry and its affilaites points of sale;
o types of products or services purchased (e.g., beauty, alcohol, luxury goods, travel snacks, F&B).
o the payment types you use during a transaction;
o your participation rate in Club Avolta offers, including frequency and category. - General Club Avolta redemption activity, such as:
o number of reward redemptions made in a certain period of time;
o preferred products and categories redeemed within the Club Avolta program - General travel‑related engagement behavior, such as:
o level of engagement with travel‑related perks.
o level of engagement with other Club Avolta partners.
Frequently asked questions
To earn Aeroplan points you need to be at least 18 years old and have (i) an account with Aeroplan as well as (ii) a ClubAvolta account. In addition, within the ClubAvolta app you will then need to link your Aeroplan account to your ClubAvolta account and select Aeroplan as your preferred partner, in order to qualify for the program.
Alternatively, in duty free Participating Avolta NA Outlets in Canada only, Aeroplan Members can scan their Aeroplan membership card at a checkout operated by staff, to earn Aeroplan points.
If you’ve linked your Aeroplan and ClubAvolta accounts, when purchasing Eligible Goods at Participating Avolta NA Outlets, you need to show your ClubAvolta membership card and have your ClubAvolta QR code scanned at a checkout point in-store. Alternatively, you would need to log into your ClubAvolta account online via Reserve & Collect, to earn Aeroplan points for purchases completed.
You can earn Aeroplan points on many products (exceptions see below) at the Participating Avolta NA Outlets operated by ClubAvolta in Canada and the United States. For information on Participating Avolta NA Outlets, please refer to the ClubAvolta App.
At Participating Avolta NA Outlets certain products or product categories, such as tobacco, are excluded from this promotion, i.e., you cannot earn Aeroplan points for such products.
Currently, you will earn 1 Aeroplan point per CAD $2 spent when purchasing Eligible Goods at Participating Avolta NA Outlets, or online via Reserve & Collect. A maximum of 10,000 Aeroplan points can be earned per transaction. A maximum of five (5) eligible transactions per day and thirty (30) per month may qualify.
Your Aeroplan points will be awarded within 72 hours of completing your qualifying purchase but may take up to 30 days Retrospective claims are not possible.
